SOUL Post: Soul Searching

Hi guys!

Pinch, punch first of the month! Do they still do that? I remember in Primary School on the first day of the month everyone would go around punching and pinching each other to welcome the new month. I hated being caught out... thinking about those times makes me feel old; and I'm still young!

Being 24, not yet 25; close to 30 but not close enough. 24 has its pros and cons. I always imagined by 25 I'd be married maybe with some kids lol. It's funny how when we're young we think of our ideal lives, and its interesting to be here now and think about how different my life is to how I imagined and dreamed it would be. I also imagined I'd be either a doctor or a lawyer, and owning my own beauty magazine!

It was summer 2012 when I applied to University of Westminster through Clearing and managed to gain a place on the BA Commercial Music course. I was so excited I'd finally get to study what I enjoy. Near to the end of my second year it is safe to say i have learnt alot. If I'm completely honest this course was not what I expected either but I am much happier that I can make improvements within my reach. They say the grass is not greener on the other side but I do believe I have found a green patch on the other side in which I can seek my teeth into. The music industry in a commercial sense is not easy, but nobody said it would be. I'm just happy to play the piano, and write songs. But as well as being a musician I have learnt that I am may things in life and we cannot be defined by or as being just one thing. Especially as a creative if there's a way to express and have an outlet do it I say.

SPIRIT Post: 3 Layers above The Sky

Hi all,

Another late night poetry post *2AM sessions* ! I looked up at the sky one day and it was like I could see God above the sky, with the earth below it; and wrote a short poem. As strange as it may sound it just made me realise that Earth is not where it starts or where it ends. All to life is not the material things we often crave and get caught up in letting define us. Enjoy life in abundance and know and have faith feeling assured that God is watching. Often times this has a negative connotation; but when you think about it God is keeping us safe. The world is a beautiful place, so many different colours, textures and landscapes! Whenever you feel down just look up to the sky; I know I do.

3 Layers Above The Sky

There's three layers to this life,

This life we cry,

Out why,

Like we're born to die,

So you try and reason,

Like we rule our own lives.

There's three layers to this life,

Beyond the sky,

Is the galaxy,

Beyond is the maker,

Of all things,

Don't ask why;

Beyond the sky,

Is the reason,

Watching all,

So great,

When in doubt just look up,

To the sky,

The lows higher than ever before,

The world so much smaller;

There's three layers to the sky,

The sky is not the limit,

Nor is the galaxy,

It leads to infinity,

The material things aren't,

What it's all meant to be,

We should be,

Free.

Spirit Post: In Faith we Trust, in Love we Lay

Hi all,

Nothing like writing before bed, sometime after 2AM *sigh*. Sometimes I write thoughts which turns into a poem. This one I call:

In faith we trust, In love we lay

Often we talk ourselves out of achieving our dreams. Well not completely but we just question whether we are on the right path, on the right page; question whether there is anything to gain. 

And when it comes down to it. You have this dream for a reason. You did believe in it. Make sacrifices. So all the doubt is fear. Remember why you started. Start to complete. Do what you love. Some days you may question why,just remember your dream why you're here. Decide today to put all in. You've got nothing to loose. They say it's easier said than done. But doing is so much in itself. Doing will bear fruit. Stay true. Be you. Purposeful purposes.
